Rebuttal of the Day: At a taping of her show set to air tomorrow, Ellen DeGeneres called out conservative group One Million Moms (actual membership: 40,000) for calling on JCPenney to dump her as their spokesperson or risk losing customers “with traditional values.”
“I usually don’t talk about stuff like this on my show, but I really want to thank everyone who is supporting me,” Ellen told her audience. “Here are the values I stand for. I stand for honesty, equality, kindness, compassion, treating people the way you’d want to be treated and helping those in need. To me, those are traditional values. That’s what I stand for.”
She then concluded, in signature Ellen fashion: “I also believe in dance.”

My email to OneMillionMoms:
“We are searching for one million moms who are willing to join the fight for our children. We want our children to have the best chance possible of living in a moral society.”
Out of the 40,000 of you, several mothers could be the mother of a gay child. If that gay child then acknowledged that his/her own mother was completely against gays, that could cause their child to become depressed and even suicidal. Is that your definition of a “moral society”? Making children who can’t help their gender want to commit suicide due to feeling unwanted, rejected, and abnormal?
Think about the message YOU’RE sending out. The world is made up of more than just “traditional” families. There are many, many types of families and the ones who are most successful are the ones who can learn to love ALL types of people, not just one.

And this is one of the reasons I love her, she is smart, humoristic and optimistic even to the ones the shouldn’t pay...
Ellen is amazing and stands for what is right and good in the world. “Traditional values” is just a way of saying you’re...
This just makes me...Penney’s more…..
